The chaosflöte combines wireless sensor technology, digital sound processing, and visual programming with the traditional Boehm flute. In facilitating interdisciplinary performances, the Chaosflöte challenges the artist to rethink conventional understandings of performance, composition, and improvisation.
Hardware components include:
- Custom-made KMB (keyswitch motion board) that includes physical buttons, switches, a slider, and integrated motion sensor, which sends input/measurement data via OSC & a 2.4ghz wireless network to a host computer.
- Airflow sensor, also sending values via OSC & 2.4ghz wireless network to a host computer
- Wireless microphone
Compatible software used for the composition of Chaosflöte works include:
-Supercollider
-Max
-Touchdesigner
-Any program that accepts OSC
